Does your back to school list of things to do include making sure your insurance coverages are keeping up with your busy life and family? My team and I are here to make sure all your insurance needs are taken care of! Auto Insurance, Homeowners Insurance, Renters Insurance, Life Insurance, and so much more! Call, text, or email my office today.

I am a third generation State Farm agent — insurance is quite literally our family business. After graduating from St. Olaf College in Northfield with a double major in Economics and Psychology and starting my career in financial services, I opened our Bloomington office in 2010 — and we have been at the same address ever since: 2626 E 82nd St, Ste 390, five minutes from the Mall of America.

I became an agent to have an impact on our customers' lives. We work with our customers on the greatest days of their lives and the worst days of their lives and everything in between. They call us when they buy a new house, have a baby, or get married. They call us when the house burns down and when someone dies. The impact comes from the conversations that happen in between.

Our office is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin and in every line of business State Farm provides — auto, home, condo, renters, life, health, pet, boat, recreational vehicles, and business insurance. Our team of 14 has more than 150 years of combined insurance experience and offers service in Spanish. We have been ranked among the Top 100 State Farm agencies in the country multiple times, out of more than 18,000 nationwide.

When you call a 1-800 number, you will rarely speak to the same person twice. Here, you will work with the same people for the life of your policy — an advocate in your corner who knows your name, your family, and your coverage. We service what we sell, and we sell what we service: one office for coverage questions, claims questions, and billing questions, with no handoffs.

Away from the office, I am a husband to Kristin (who also works on our team), a dad of two, a ski racing coach and board member with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, and — like most of our office — a devoted Gophers, Vikings, Wild, and Wolves fan. We live here, we coach here, and we answer the phone here. Call or text us anytime, 24 hours a day.

Q: Who is a good insurance agent near me in Bloomington, MN?

A: Casey Charlson State Farm is located at 2626 E 82nd St, Suite 390 in Bloomington, five minutes from the Mall of America and just off the 494 corridor. Our office has served Bloomington and the greater Twin Cities since 2010, and our Google Business profile shows a 4.8 star rating across more than 220 customer reviews. Casey is a third generation State Farm agent, and our team of 14 has more than 150 years of combined insurance experience.

Q: What insurance does your office handle?

A: We are licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin in every line of business State Farm provides: auto, home, condo, renters, life, health, pet, boat, recreational vehicle, and business insurance. That full-spectrum licensing means one office can review everything you own in a single conversation.

Q: What sets your agency apart from other insurance options in the Twin Cities?

A: We service what we sell, and we sell what we service. One office — the same familiar people — handles your coverage questions, claims questions, and billing questions, so you are never handed off to a call center. Customers regularly mention in reviews that they reached a real person instead of a robot, got answers the same day, and had their policy broken down in plain language. Our motto is that no call goes unreturned and no email goes unanswered, every day.

Q: Can you help me bundle home and auto insurance in Minnesota?

A: Yes. Bundling home and auto is one of the most common ways our Bloomington customers manage their total insurance cost, and it is one of the first things we quote. We will show you both policies side by side and explain exactly what each one covers before you decide anything.

Q: Does homeowners insurance cover hail and wind damage to my roof in Minnesota?

A: Wind and hail are covered perils on many Minnesota homeowners policies, but the amount a policy pays depends on whether your roof is covered at replacement cost or at depreciated actual cash value — a difference that can be tens of thousands of dollars on an older roof. Minnesota also generally allows a limited window, often 12 months from the storm date, to file a hail claim. We review roof coverage for free, and we recommend calling our office before signing anything with a door-knocking contractor after a storm.

Q: Why did my insurance rate go up in Minnesota, and what can I do about it?

A: Minnesota home insurance rates rose sharply in 2025 — the largest increase in the country — after back-to-back years of major hail losses statewide. Rate changes usually reflect the whole state being repriced, not something you did. When customers ask, we walk through exactly why a rate changed and then check every discount that applies, from bundling to impact-resistant roofing credits that Minnesota insurers are now required to offer.

Q: How much car insurance do I need in Minnesota?

A: Minnesota is a no-fault state, so every driver must carry liability coverage, personal injury protection (PIP), and uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. The state minimums are a legal floor, not a recommendation — the required property damage minimum is far below the cost of the average new vehicle on the road today. We help customers match their limits to what they actually drive, own, and need to protect.

Q: Is renters insurance worth it in Minnesota?

A: Bloomington has roughly 12,800 renter households, and most renters carry no coverage at all even though renters insurance is typically one of the lowest-cost policies we quote. It protects your belongings from theft, fire, and water damage and provides liability coverage — and it often qualifies you for a multi-line discount when paired with your auto policy.

Q: How much life insurance do I need?

A: A common starting point is enough to replace your income for several years and cover major obligations such as a house payment and childcare. Workplace coverage is usually one to two times salary and ends when the job does, so most families need more than they have. We start every life insurance conversation by reviewing what you already have — no pressure, just the real numbers.

Q: How do I contact your office?

A: Our office at 2626 E 82nd St, Suite 390 in Bloomington is open five days a week and by appointment anytime, and customers can call or text us 24 hours a day. We are five minutes from the Mall of America and easy to reach from anywhere along the 494 corridor.
